Inexcusable by Chris Lynch

Well this is number 8 for the month of March so I making quick work with these books. In fact this one took two hours to read. Yes it was a very short book.

Keir is finishing his senior year of high school hoping for some football scholarship to come in the mail. His two sister are off at college and promise to come to his graduation only they don't show up at all. He has always been in love with a girl named Gigi who is his friend and hangs with him the night of graduation.

I give it 2 out of 5 stars. It is way to short for my liking and was confusing beyond belief. each capture was a jump from the one night to the present night. overall I thought the writing was ok but it lacked the detail and drive to make me feel the emotions the characters are feeling. That to me is the most importent part of any book is having a connection to the story.

Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

This one I just finished reading like when I posted my first blog of the day.

In this book sixteen year old Miranda is struggling to stay alive when the moon is knocked closer to the earth. Told though journal entries about one family and the fight they put up to live when times were getting hard.

I give it a 3 out of 5. It was well written but it didn't seem to grab my attention all to much. I didn't feel the struggle they were feeling and was a bit disappointed by that. Next book is Inexcusable.

The Christopher Killer by Alane Ferguson

Yeah I know I just posted one but I have read like two others since I started reading Nineteen Minutes. I finished this one first though but I wasn't going to post it till I read the other one.

Cameryn wants to be a coroner like her father and got him to agree to let her help him out. But when a friend of hers is killed and is part of a chain of killings from the Christopher killer. Every girl killed by him was found tied up, face on the ground, and a Christopher necklace on their bodies. She is determined to find the killer even if she has to risk her life to do it.

I give it a 5 out of 5. It is so far my favorite book to date. I love how it is laid out to you and it builds up to the climax of the book. After the climax has come you find yourself wanting to finish the book to find out who the killer is. The hints she gives in the book give you a sip of who the killer is without giving it away till the end of the book. Overall I give big kudos to the author.

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Yeah it took me some time to finish this one. sorry for the wait.

So this book is kinda based on other high school shootings in a fictional school. Of course as it always is, the kid was never liked at all and always picked on. This book is about the trail of this kid and how the town was affected.

I give it 2 out of 5 stars. I really didn't enjoy this book at all. It skipped in time too much for me and within the chapters it skipped from person to person. This was a book that I felt I had to trug though to get it done. my next one is the Christopher Killer.

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter

I've read this one before the list comes out so it still counts cause lets face it I have a great memory. Anyhow here is a summery:

Cammie Morgan along with her friends attend Gallagher Academy For Exceptional Young Woman, which everyone on the outside thinks is a school for rich girls, but is really for spies. Yes this school is to teach girls to be spies and their is also an all boy school for the same thing miles away from them. Anyhow she runs into Josh while doing a school project, which of course is spy related. She falls for him and with the help of her friends and the knowledge they have from spy school. Anyway things get interesting pretty quickly, which leads to problems that must be solved.

I give this book 5/5 stars. It is well written and quite a interesting twist to the world of spy books. I thought it was a great book, but I still liked Avalon High better. This years books are so good its hard to chose the best one.

I'm still working on Nineteen Minutes which I will have to take a break from because of Hunted coming out on Tuesday, which I preordered from the local book shop so like I'll be the first one to get it from there.

Mandy

Avalon High by Meg Cabot

Hey guys it took two days to read this one, which isn't too bad at all. I will warn you that it might be sometime before I start my next one because of a book I have been wait for AGES to come it is coming out Tuesday. Anyhow this was one good book.

Avalon High follows the story of King Arthur and his inner circle. Now we aren't talking about the Knights of the round table. The main Character was named after the Lady of Shalott and when she runs into handsome Will Wagner, she keeps feeling like she knows him from somewhere. Funny thing is Will is thinking the same way. They learn things the never thought could be true. Can good prevail or will evil win once again?

I give this book a 5/5. It is well written and well thought off and has enough details to make me a happy reader. I'd say this book is good for anyone that likes the era of King Arthur. The only thing I could say bad about the book is that it leaves you wanting more of the story to answer any of the unanswered questions the reader is bound to have. Anyway I'll be starting Nineteen Minutes next.

Mandy

Aftershock by Kelly Easton

Yea I did tell you I'd finish it in a day. Well it was one of those books you just couldn't put down.

Adam has just lost both his parents in a fatal car crash but yet he managed to survive. He sits their watch as a deer dies before she makes his way back home. Needless to say he comes across many unique characters, while trying to get his past back in order and worry about his future.

I give this book a 3/5. I loved the book but it was a bit confusing at first with his whole flashbacks from past to present. Also I felt their could have been more to the book and that it wasn't quite as detailed as I would have liked. None the less it is a good read if your looking for something fast but challenging seeing as she leaves you asking questions.

Next I'll be reading Avalon High. I'll be keeping you posted.

Ever yours,
Mandy

An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

So like I said, I finished the first book on my list in two days. Like that was a real shock for anyone out there that knows me. Like I also mentioned two days ago, listed here is a summery of An Abundance of Katerines.

This book is about Colin Singleton and the fact that he has been dumped by the nineteenth Katherine and how his type of girl is named that. He has only dated Katherine's his whole life and is always getting dumped by them. His friend decides to take him on a road trip that ends them up in the middle of nowhere were the Archduke who somehow stared world war 1 is buried. While on his road trip he has a "Eureka" moment to test out how long a relationship is going to last and who will be the dumpee and the dumper. But what Colin doesn't know is that he is not only going to have his "Eureka" moment but that other things will change him forever.

I'd give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is written nicely and detailed plus the added interlaced math gives the book a nice well needed twist that not many other books have. This book had me wanted to finish it to see his math come together. I also think anyone can get into this book and also not like math much since the math isn't a heavy detail but, serves as a way to drive the book to the last page.

Now I will be reading Aftershock and will most likely finish in one day because it is only 167 pages. I'll keep you posted.

Ever yours,
Mandy

Starting the dash

Hey I bet half of you are wondering what is up with the title and why it is crazy and makes no sense. Well a Double Deuce is someone who reads all 22 of the Abe award books. Well for the people daring enough to spend their time reading all 22 books get their name posted on the website with the others who complete the task. Well I also heard that no one in our school has read 22 books and I want to be the first one. I am sure that counts for some sort of record at least in the library. I'm am so spoiled by the librarians that I am the first person to receive the list, which I think is so beyond cool. I have no idea when the list will be available to the public of my school so as you can bet I'm a pretty happy Mandy.

So I picked up the first book on my list which is An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. It looks pretty sweet and has a hint of interlaced math to it and I love Math and Science a lot so I'm bound to finish it within a day or two. Once I'm done reading it I'll post a summery and also tell you which book I am moving onto and keep you updated on my count down to 22. Wish me luck.
Ever yours,
Mandy
