The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

Yeah it took me a while to finish this one but it was a great story considering the length of it. I had read Nineteen Minutes which was just as long and very disappointing for this was a nice refreshing story.

Manhattan 1899 is where our stage is set with the death of Miss Elizabeth Holland. It is a sad occasion for all who knew the young Girl of Eighteen years of age. Back track to the events leading up to her death. The girls discover a secret that must never get out or it will be the ruin of the family. Is there anyway to secure their status? Will it be the end for the Holland's?

I give this one 5 out of 5. I know that I ranted and raved over The Christopher Killer but, I liked this one a little more then I did that one. From the first chapter of the book your sucked into it watching as plot twist after plot twist happens and how these girls overcome each one. It had you guess what the real Climax was or at least gives you the chance to kinda figure it out yourself. Overall for the length of this book she kept you into it which is hard considering it was 433 pages long.

I am now working on Wicked Lovely and I am hoping to finish 2 by May 3rd my birthday. I will then be half way done with my list of 22 and well on my way to being the first in Downers Grove North history to finish all 22. She said if that happens I'd be on the announcements and she would have to contact both the towns newspaper and the school paper plus a picture with the 22 titles. I already plan on doing this two years in a row.

Ever yours,
Mandy

  1. I agree. These books are my guilty pleasures. I had to run grab the next two and nothing got done until I read Rumors and Envy....
